About Our Campus
St. Anne Home is a ministry of the
Felician Sisters of North America dedicated to the
continued healing mission of Jesus Christ by providing
a continuum of care and supportive services for adults,
their families, and their care givers.
The campus with a distinguished history
and ministry of caring for older adults...
Selecting
health care or personal care services for yourself
or for a loved one is sometimes difficult and confusing. Almost
always, the decision is a very emotional one.
That is why when the need arises
for nursing or personal care in your family, you
want to choose a provider who offers more than
high quality medical care. You need an extended
family of health care professionals and support staff
who provide care and services with compassion and
respect.
Since 1964, St. Anne Home has been
this extended family for thousands of residents. Under
the direction of the Felician Sisters of North America,
the staff of St. Anne Home has always made it a priority
to care for the mind, body, and souls of residents. We
also appreciate the role of family members, and we
provide them with support services they need to participate
in the care of their loved ones.
After providing nursing care for
over three decades and in response to the growing
needs of older adults, St. Anne Home expanded its
campus in 1998 to include a personal care community--Villa
Angela. With the addition of the Villa Angela,
residents have a broad range of care and services
available on one campus--the campus with a distinguished
history and ministry of caring for older adults.
St. Anne Home continues to identify
opportunities that will better meet the needs of
older adults in our area. In 2003, a nursing home renovation
project was initiated which added four new dining spaces,
an elevator to service all three floors, and a larger
and improved rehabilitation suite. In addition
to these major components, several courtyards were
remodeled, a larger emergency generator was installed
and the entire home received a new roof as part of
the renovation project.
Personal Care -
Villa Angela
at St. Anne Home.
Offering
a wide variety of apartment styles and a residential
environment, Villa Angela welcomes residents
who need personal care services. Villa
Angela offers wellness services, including health
assessments and monitoring, rehabilitation and
exercise programs, medication management, and
help with daily routines such as cooking, laundry,
and cleaning.
Villa Angela features a total
of 44 studio, one, and two-bedroom apartments,
many of which are equipped with tea kitchens. Meals
are served in the Fireside Dining Room, and residents
also enjoy a game room, exercise room, outdoor
patios, three spacious living rooms, and a campus
beauty and barber shop.
Daily activities like scheduled outings, picnics, and other social programs
are offered at Villa Angela. Residents may also attend daily religious
services in the St. Anne Home chapel.
Villa Angela is staffed 24-hours
a day and provides personal care services based
on individual resident needs. Although
help is available, all residents are encouraged
to be as independent as possible. Residents
can feel confident knowing that if they need
a higher level of care, they have access to the
best nursing and rehabilitation services on the
same campus.
Intermediate & Skilled Nursing
Care - The Nursing Center.
The St. Anne Home Nursing Center provides care for those whose medical status
requires 24-hour nursing supervision. The
Nursing Center has 125 beds, in both private
and semi-private rooms, and is both Medicare
and Medicaid certified.
Some of the services provided
in the Nursing Center include: Alzheimer's
care, IV therapy, restorative nursing, short-term
respite care, and rehabilitation therapies. This
care is supervised by a medical staff and coordinated
with the health care team. The Nursing
Center also provides specialty medical services
on campus, such as a dentist, optometrist, podiatrist,
and psychologists. Social and recreational activities
appropriate for each resident's health status
are offered every day. Residents also may
attend daily religious services in the St. Anne
Home chapel and enjoy visits and spiritual support
from the chaplain and pastoral care team.
Rehabilitation Services...
St.
Anne Home offers an extensive rehabilitation
program that is available to all campus residents. Included
in the program are occupational, physical, and
speech therapies.
About the Felician Sisters of North America...
St.
Anne Home residents and their families often
comment on the joy and comfort that the Felician
Sisters bring to St. Anne Home. The sisters
do more than care for residents; they walk with
residents. By the sisters example, it
is clear that the staff who work at St. Anne
Home also consider it a ministry, not just a
job.
The Felician Sisters of Pennsylvania
have managed St. Anne Home since it opened in
1964. The sisters, whose provincial house
in located in Coraopolis, PA, live and work in
various capacities at St. Anne Home. The
sisters' ministry at St. Anne Home is an extension
of their community mission of providing service
to God's people.
Founded in Poland in 1855 by
Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska, the Felician
Sisters continue to live Blessed Angela's spirit
in seven provinces of the United States, as well
as provinces in Brazil, Canada, and Poland. Missions
have also been established in Africa and Mexico.
